After a few New England marathons, I'm taking on my first Major: the TCS New York City Marathon, November 2026.
I've really fallen in love with this sport since moving to New York, the training, the friends who've turned into running friends, all of it. Getting to run my first Major through the city I've spent the last few years training in feels like a pretty fitting way to do it.
This one means something beyond a personal goal, too. I'm running with NYRR Team for Climate, the first sustainability-focused entry method at a major marathon, raising money that goes toward carbon offsetting through verified forest restoration projects, as NYRR works toward Net Zero emissions by 2040.
I grew up going to camp on Lake Ossipee, exploring the mountains in the White Mountains, and spent many nights outdoors in New England. It means something to me that New York Road Runners' Team for Climate funds multiple projects supporting forestry in those regions, like the White Mountains Forestry Project and the 100-Mile Wilderness Project. Helping protect these is a big part of why I want to run, and do my part to preserve the outdoors for everyone and generations to come. Running outside is a lot of the reason why I find the sport so special.
I've already personally donated to NYRR Team for Climate to support my TCS New York City Marathon fundraiser. I did this myself so it would qualify for an employer's donation-matching program, which doubles the impact.
If you'd like to help me reach my goal, you can Venmo me directly:
@Rosie-RothschildThis comes to me personally, not to NYRR, and isn't tax-deductible. I'm using it to offset a donation I already made for match purposes.
